We believe that fingerprints and smudges ruin the photo-viewing experience, so we are adamantly against a touch screen for photo frames. We have instead provided a touch pad, which is easy to use and keeps the screen clean.
The Shobii™ frame is available in 10-inch and 15-inch sizes. Both sizes offer a high resolution (1280x800) screen to display amazing detail and colors.
We will eventually offer multiple color options, depending on the amount of funding we raise.
We are only offering the Shobii™ frame for North American consumers for now. If you are planning on using it in a different location, then be prepared to use a North American power plug. The power adapter will be able to accept voltage up to 240 volts.
The Shobii™ frame is built to display your photos from the Internet by connecting with the Shobii™ private network, and/or photos from social networks such as Facebook and Flickr. It does not accept photos from a memory stick.
Yes, WiFi is the only option for connecting with the network.
You are not required to purchase the Shobii™ private network. You can simply enjoy photos from your Facebook friends and from Flickr. However, having a subscription to the network will enhance your ability to share with family or loved ones, by sharing photos directly with their Shobii™ frames.
Photos will be available to you indefinitely, as long as they stay shared with you. The person sharing the photos has the ability to unshare them.
Yes, the production model will provide the ability to adjust the incline of the screen.
There isn’t a way to connect a Shobii™ frame with an external screen.
Yes, we will provide at least one USB port, which can be used to connect an external keyboard.
This is among our long-term plans. We envision integrating the Shobii™ private network with services such as Target and Walgreens, so that our customers can order prints directly from the Shobii™ frame that they can then pick up at the store of their choice.
